If you're installing fencing and gates around pool areas, dog parks, recreational grounds, or other locations, you'll need a great quality hinge that you can rely on. As the public goes in and out of the gates, you want the hinge to self-close, which is exactly what the Locinox Tiger Compact Hinge Closer does. Made for gates up to four feet wide and 165 lbs., this option is ideal for both homeowners and professional installers.
The Locinox Tiger Compact Hinge Closer has all the features you're looking for in a hinge and much more. It has a 180-degree self-closing hydraulic hinge, so the gate will be able to fully swing open. When left, the hinge will move the gate back into a locked position. The Tiger allows the gap and height to be adjusted, so you have room to work with. A smaller Puma hinge is included that is installed at the bottom of the gate. With an aluminum powder coating in either black or silver, they'll perform well in any weather condition and will last for years to come. How do we know? Locinox has trialed this hinge for 500,000 cycles! Its quality and capability are proven, and it's even ADA compliant. If you'd like a visual guide, see Locinox's helpful Installation Video that can be found on this page. Some of your hinges are sold by the each and some sell by the pair. What is the difference?
When the unit of measure says “pair” that means two hinges. Usually you need one pair of hinges per door. When the unit of measure says “each” that means one hinge. You would usually order 2 “each” hinges per door.
I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?
I want to replace my hinges. How do I make sure the screw holes on the new hinge match the screw holes on the old hinge so I do not have to redrill the holes?
Unfortunately, hinge manufacturers have never standardized the location of their screw hole patterns. Every manufacturer puts their screw holes in a slightly different place. This means that when you replace hinges you will almost certainly have to do some filling and redrilling. The exception to this is Architectural door hinges which are built to a standardized template for each size hinge.
